Library Card

A person may have a Crooked Tree District Library card if he/she lives or owns property in Boyne Valley or Melrose Township. A patron registering for a library card will be asked to provide the following information: name, address, telephone number, business telephone number, e-mail address, and driver's license. Consent and signature from a parent or legal guardian assuming financial responsibility will be required for a minor.

Your Crooked Tree District Library card can be used at any of the libraries in the shared system. Locally that includes Boyne City, Charlevoix, and Petoskey.

Crooked Tree District Library participates in the Michicard program.

Loan Policies

The standard loan period is one week for videos and DVDs, two weeks for new books, and three weeks for all other materials owned by the Crooked Tree District Library. The renewal of library materials may be done in person, by telephone, or on the Internet. There is a limit of two renewals on any item. An item that has a hold on it will not be renewed.

Fines

Library patrons will be charged overdue fines for materials that are kept beyond their due date. A fine of 10 cents per item, per day, will be accrued on each item for every day that it is overdue. Patrons who have accrued $10 or more in fines will be blocked from borrowing.

Programming

Both locations have weekly story hours throughout the year and a Summer Reading Program in July. Other programs are available as scheduled, including author visits.
